Skips are to be used for non-hazardous waste such as building debris and household items etc.

Hazardous waste should not be placed in Skips. This includes:

  • Asbestos
  • Fluorescent Tubes
  • Televisions & Computer Monitors
  • Batteries
  • Fridge Freezers
  • Gas Bottles
  • Plasterboards
  • Food Waste
  • Oil, Petrol, Diesel
  • Solvents

All the items listed can be serviced by BBS. Contact service desk for details.

Full range 3tonne to 40yd RO/RO – both open and enclosed.

Skips should not be filled above fill level (top of skip). Service delivery drivers can be prosecuted for being overloaded or having an insecure load which can result in the driver losing their licence and the company fined.  Overfilled skips might be subject to an extra charge!

A skip can be placed anywhere within private property provided that there is adequate access to the skip for when the wagon returns to collect it. We advise that you  do NOT move a skip once it has been placed, or you may make it inaccessible. Always give clear instructions to the Service Delivery Driver when he arrives at your premises.

If you are placing a skip on the public highway you will require a permit from the local authority. Blackburn Skips Ltd will apply for this prior to delivery and authority charge will be added. Our support team will establish this and advise at time of order.

Your waste will proceed through our fully EA licensed Waste Recycling Centre meeting the requirements of EA UK Legislations. Approx. 93% of our waste is diverted from landfill.

Domestic Skips

For domestic users payment can be made when ordering the skip by debit/credit card or cash payment to the service driver on delivery.
